Title: Inflections II Author: banlu Email: banlutoo@yahoo.com Archive: *DO NOT ARCHIVE* to ephemeral, Gossamer; Already there. Anyone else, please ask. I like to know it's gone to a nice home. Rating: G Category: V/A Spoilers: None Keywords: Mulder/Scully Summary: The sound of his voice... Comments: I love it when Mulder's voice catches on the "k" sound in Scully. This is a companion piece to "Inflections I". I'd prefer them to be read in order, but they each can stand alone. Disclaimer: No matter how hard I wish, they still aren't mine. Thanks: To mimic, who has helped me take the step from reader to writer. Date written: June 2002 Inflections II by banlu "Scully." A statement to draw her attention to the child's body on the floor. "Scully." A little more forcefully, making sure he was heard over the hubbub of the crime scene. "Scully?" A 'where-are-you' aspect raised the end when he turned around to look for her. "Scully?" Louder and longer now as he left the room and wandered into the hall. "Scully?" A touch of exasperation mixed with the question. "Scully?" Shortened by impatience while he searched the other rooms. "Scully?" Rising concern, revealed by the catch at the beginning of her name. "Scully?" The last syllable rose and lengthened, almost a plea. "Scully?" An implied "is-that-you?" in response to a thump from behind the next door. "Scully?" A "do-you-need-help" shout as he rattled the handle. "Scully?" Tightened by fear while he forced open the door. "Scully." Relief dropped the end when he saw her standing at a window. "Scully?" Curiosity raised it again as he approached her. "Scully?" Soft and low, as he met her tear-filled eyes. "Scully." Choked by sadness when he realized the girl had looked like Emily. "Scully." A private whisper carressing her in understanding. "Scully." The voice of love. end Feedback: banlutoo@yahoo.com The conceited part of me wants it, the humble part doesn't, and the insecure part fears it.
